Coffee Shop Review: Zoobibi Cafe, Melbourne, Australia
The first time I heard the name “Zoobibi,” I couldn’t help but associate it with the Arabic term of endearment, “Habibi.” My assumption is that the owner of Zoobibi might have derived the name from this lovely reference. Although I can’t confirm this, there seems to be a connection, especially when I read the owner’s statement on their website: “ZOOBIBI Cafe takes inspiration from my Mediterranean heritage.” Read on to learn more about this Melbourne cafe.
Zoobibi Cafe is a lifestyle brand that drew inspiration from the owner’s travels and favorite cities, including Marrakech, Athens, Istanbul, and Beirut.

๐ฅฏ Zoobibi Cafe food
Eggs Anyway
Price: USD 9.20

As for the menu, Zoobibi serves Western food with delightful Mediterranean influences. During my visit with friends, I opted for Eggs Anyway, a dish featuring scrambled eggs on sourdough. While it didn’t seem very appetizing at first glance, I was pleasantly surprised by its delectable taste.
Open Steak Sandwich
Price: USD 16.42

As for my companions, Lara chose the Open Steak Sandwich, a savory blend of steak, cheese, roasted red peppers, caramelized onion, rocket, and wholegrain mustard mayo served on Turkish bread. She enjoyed it so much that she polished off her plate, which was quite remarkable as she rarely finishes her food. Based on her approval alone, I’d say the dish was a winner, even though I didn’t try it myself (I don’t eat red meat).
Haloumi Benedict
Price: USD 15.77

Meanwhile, my other friend, Sarah, opted for the Haloumi Benedict, a Moroccan-inspired dish featuring spiced potato rosti, avocado, tomato and onion salsa, spinach, grilled haloumi, hollandaise, krispy kale, mixed seeds, and an egg. Sarah raved about the flavors, expressing her delight with the dish.
โ Zoobibi Cafe drinks
Almond Latte
Price: USD 3.42

To accompany our meals, my friends ordered lattes.
Flat White
Price: USD 3.42

While I enjoyed my usual Flat Whiteโa creamy and slightly acidic concoction that instantly perked me up that morning.
Zoobibi is an enchanting cafe with a Mediterranean touch, both in its ambiance and culinary offerings. Whether you’re seeking a delightful brunch experience or a charming event venue, Zoobibi has something special to offer, leaving you with cherished memories and a desire to return.
