Camila Cabello's Yours, C: My Concert Experience in Kaohsiung

In 2025, I watched my first concert by a single artist and flew to Taiwan to see it. I’m a fan of Camila Cabello, which started for strange reasons. I was a “Shawmila” shipper, the term coined by fans of Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello when they started dating. The relationship might have ended, but my admiration for Camila didn’t.

So when I found out Taiwan was part of her Yours, C Tour, I immediately booked a concert ticket via Live Nation for Php 8,905.25. I had the chance to see one of my favourite artists perform live; there was no way I was going to pass it up.

I flew to Taiwan in August 2025, a few days shy of my 43rd birthday. I was supposed to fly directly to Kaohsiung via Cebu Pacific, but they moved my flight to a later date, after Camila’s concert. No can do.

So I booked another flight with Philippine Airlines, but it required flying to Taipei first.

The trip was long and exhausting. From Taipei, I took the high-speed train, then hopped on two more trains to get to Kaohsiung. The rain started pouring when I arrived, so I got a little soaked on my way to the hotel.

The next day, I explored the city in the morning. The concert was scheduled for 8:00 p.m., so I had plenty of time to spare.

Kaohsiung Music Center

Camila’s concert was held at the Kaohsiung Music Center on August 14, 2025. The day before, I had printed my concert ticket at a kiosk inside a 7-Eleven. The instructions were in Chinese, so I sought the assistance of a staff member to help me print it.

I didn’t have to line up early because I had booked a ticket with a guaranteed seat. They didn’t allow bags or umbrellas inside the venue, so I had to rent a locker for my belongings.

During the concert, however, I wished I’d gotten a ticket closer to the stage. Then I would have seen Camila up close. From my balcony seat, she was little more than a speck, and I could barely make her out. If it weren’t for the large screens on the stage, I wouldn’t have been able to see her face at all.

Camila’s concert was titled Yours, C Tour, where she performed in over 14 countries, including France, the Netherlands, Germany, Finland, Poland, the United Kingdom (England), Ireland, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, and Brazil.

Months before the concert, I listened to her album, C, XOXO, so I wouldn’t feel completely lost when she performed the songs live. I didn’t like the album at first, but it grew on me after repeated listens.

The moment she appeared on top of a white padded stage cube, I was in a trance. Camila emerged through the smoke wearing a corset top, a shiny skirt, and a pair of boots. She looked absolutely stunning.

There were songs on C, XOXO that I didn’t care much for, but when she sang them live, they suddenly made sense. I realized that some songs are made for the stage because that’s where they truly come alive.

For her Taiwan concert, she sang a total of 22 songs with a voice that sounded remarkably similar to her recordings. Camila is a complete performer. She can sing, dance, and play musical instruments. She’s also gorgeous, one of the prettiest artists I’ve ever seen. I just love her so much.

I tried to take as many videos and photos as I could because I wanted to remember the moment. Unfortunately, my phone didn’t do Camila justice. If I ever watch her concert again, I’d rather be much closer to the stage.
