Bonnie Coffee: Best Cafe to Grab Coffee in Melbourne, Australia

I’ve tried many coffee shops and cafes across Australia that I could write an entire book about them. The Aussies, particularly the Melbournians take great pride in their coffee culture and they reserve the right, considering how good they make their coffee. Since I made it a mission to visit as many coffee shops as I could, you might wonder, which one I would recommend above all others. If we’re speaking strictly of Melbourne CBD, my top choice would be Bonnie Coffee, and let me tell you why.

The space is small with limited seating and this seems to be intentional, catering to the bustling crowd of office workers who frequent Bonnie for their daily dose of takeaway coffee. The design is more of a grab-and-go than a chat-over-coffee spot.

There’s a long coffee bar on the right side of the room. Meanwhile, the far-left wall showcases neatly arranged shelves, housing a variety of coffee supplies ranging from bags of expertly roasted espresso beans to finely ground coffee, alongside an assortment of paper cups and other coffee-related products.

Flat White

Price: USD 3.71

Bonnie has generally positive reviews online for their coffee so my expectations were high. I ordered a regular-sized flat white with oat milk, forgoing any food items as I had just had lunch before arriving.

One sip of this flat white and I knew I will remember Bonnie Coffee forever. The richness of the coffee, combined with its creamy texture and absence of any burnt aftertaste, made it an unparalleled experience. It’s a perfect pick-me-upper, no wonder it has gained a loyal following. I would be a regular too if I was living or working in the CBD area.
