Goose’s Nest: The Best Hidden Gem Cafe in Chiang Mai, Thailand
I spotted this coffee shop while walking down the street on my way to the hostel. Perched unassumingly along the street was a place that held an air of mystery. Its appearance sparked curiosity within me; was it a bar, a cafe, or an unconventional hardware store? I was hesitant to approach, not knowing if it was even open. My gaze shifted on an iron sign bearing the establishment’s name, Goose’s Nest Coffee Shop & Bar; that solved the first mystery. I ventured into the space and found two men engrossed in conversation, both swiveling their heads in synchrony to greet my arrival. Seeking clarification, I queried, “Are you open?” One of them nodded in affirmation, “Yes, come in, please.”
I recently discovered Goose’s Nest, a coffee shop that I believe opened sometime in 2023. I was there myself in January, but when I Googled the place, I couldn’t find any reviews, blog posts, or social media accounts for it. I’m not sure why this is, but if you have any information about the coffee shop, please let me know so I can update my article.

What truly captured my interest was the coffee shop’s vintage industrial design. With brick-clad walls, raw concrete floors, and pendant lights casting a gentle glow, the ambiance reminds me of a garage. The use of repurposed furniture and decor, such as gas containers ingeniously transformed into stools, adds a distinct charm to the space. The space is small and the seating very limited. Despite its rugged aesthetics, the place is cozy.

I enjoyed a cup of this creamy, double-shot espresso-based coffee. It was so good; strong but not burnt, and the rosetta was perfectly poured.
Although the words I can offer about Goose’s Nest are limited, its impression upon me is indelible. I liked the interiors, the peaceful setting, and the amazing coffee, effortlessly securing a spot among my favorite Chiang Mai coffee shop experiences.
