Coffee Shop Review: Afters Coffee House, Taytay, Rizal, Philippines

Google Maps is nifty; it allows me to discover coffee shops that I would never have discovered on my own. It’s how I found out about the three coffee shops I visited in Rizal, Feynman Coffee, Typica Coffee, and the subject of this post, Afters Coffee House (not to be confused with Afters, that dessert place in Quezon City).

📍Coffee shop – Afters Coffee House location

Afters Coffee House sits in a quiet neighborhood, occupying a little space on a corner street. It’s located in Taytay, Rizal. I went there via a motorbike taxi.

The space is tiny, probably one of the smallest coffee shops I’ve ever visited. It has lime-washed walls and coffee bar, table bars and stools, and a few collapsible chairs. There are also additional seatings outside.

The coffee shop was packed when I went there, so I had to wait for the place to clear before taking the photo above.

Most customers were teenagers and seemed to frequent Afters Coffee based on their demeanor and how easily they interacted with the baristas.

I asked if they had WiFi because I saw a Globe router on the wall. They said they don’t have WiFi, though. Maybe it’s only for the use of the staff; I’m not sure.

Cinnamon bun  

Price: USD 2.63 (PHP 55)

I saw a few pastries in their small deli case. I ordered a cinnamon bun. There was nothing special about it, but considering the price, I guess I shouldn’t ask for too much.

Salted caramel latte

Price: USD 1.87 (PHP 110)

I had a Salted caramel latte, and it was cloyingly sweet. I asked for soy milk instead of regular milk, but I think it ruined the coffee because the soy milk greatly subdued the coffee taste. Maybe it’d taste better with regular milk? I’m not sure.

🫘🫘🫘🫘🫘 Magnificent! It’s a coffee shop done right. The coffee is heavenly, the ambiance is perfect, and the crew is fantastic! Definitely worth the bucks and a revisit.
