Coffee Shop Review: Flower Ranch Cafe, Mandaluyong, Philippines
When I went to South Korea in 2018, I intended to visit coffee shops. I spotted several of them in Hongdae, also known as Seoul’s hipster + artsy district. However, my travel companion wasn’t too keen on the idea, and just like that, I let it go. To this day, I regret missing the opportunity to try as many coffee shops as I could in Seoul. I could have gone solo; it’s not like we were joined at the hips, you know.
This is why I was so fascinated when I found a coffee shop in my country reminiscent of those I saw in Hongdae. I found it in one of my Google searches and wasted no time visiting the place. It’s called Flower Ranch Cafe, a coffee shop + floral shop in Mandaluyong.

Flower Ranch Cafe can be found along Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong. You can see it on the side of the road, but it’s so small it’s easy to miss it if you’re not paying attention. As a matter of fact, I didn’t spot it right away when the motorbike taxi driver dropped me off at the location.
If you’re going there, just look for the Beacon Plaza; Flower Ranch is on the right corner in front of it.

I went to Flower Ranch Cafe last year and even featured it on my YouTube channel. Back then, there were some pandemic restrictions in place; hence the coffee shop could only accept two persons at a time inside. I’m not sure if that’s still the case now. But the coffee shop is tiny; it can only fit at least four customers if we’re being generous.
Now the interiors have got to be one of the prettiest I’ve seen. The space is filled with beautiful flowers, some are fresh, and some are dried. Even the ceilings are covered with hanging flowers. And because of these flowers, the coffee shop smells like spring. Just being there, surrounded by these fragrant blossoms, will greatly improve your mood. It’s almost impossible to be gloomy in such a place of beauty.

Spanish bread

Their menu is not extensive, just a few drinks and only two choices for food; Spanish bread and cookies. I ordered Spanish bread, and though it’s overpriced (it’s only $0.59 in local bakeries), I didn’t mind because it was delicious.

Apart from the fact that I loved their coffee, I also loved the dried flower attached to the paper cup—what a nice touch. As with the coffee taste, it has a hint of a sour flavor (probably because of the lemon used for garnish) and a slightly bitter aftertaste. They use 100% Arabica beans to make their coffee, which they source from Sitio Pluto, Balutakay, in Mt. Apo, Davao del Sur.
Rose tea cold brew
Price: USD 2.71 (PHP 1.60)
The barista recommended their bestseller drink, and it’s not coffee; it’s Rose tea cold brew. Initially skeptical as a non-tea person, I ended up loving it more than the coffee. It’s sweet and refreshing, and as you can see in the photo, it looks so pretty with all those bits of dried roses on top.
