Coffee Shop Review: Totally Bananas, Boracay, Philippines
I’ve seen themed coffee shops and they’re always interesting for me; panda, bicycle, Hello Kitty. But have you seen one that is banana-centric? Nope? Well, you can find one in Boracay called Totally Bananas.

📍Totally Bananas location
On my recent trip to Boracay, I stayed in the Bulabog area, and I passed by this small coffee shop a couple of times whenever I had to go and find somewhere to eat. You can find it down this narrow street where you can find the Ferra hotels. One day I decided to check it out.
Booking.com🖼️ Totally Bananas ambiance and interiors
The owners call it an eco-friendly cafe, although how, I can’t tell for sure. The space is small, and the floors are covered with faux grass. There’s a shoe rack outside the door where customers can leave their footwear.
Apart from the banana-mascot logos here and there and the yellow-colored, throw pillows and bean bags, they didn’t go bananas (no pun intended) with the interior design. I sat on the bean bag, and it was quite comfy I must say.
There was only one staff when I went there. I asked her twice if I heard her name right, but she confirmed that it was indeed, Jolina. I’m pretty sure she was named after the Filipino singer-actress, Jolina Magdangal because this is not a common name in the Philippines. If that is the case, the barista is probably in her early 20s. So in my head, I’m like, right… I’ve been living on this earth pretty darn long.
💻 Totally Bananas WiFi
As I made myself comfortable on one of the bean bags, Jolina offered to connect my phone to their WiFi. The connection was fast and stable, I was impressed.
🔌 Totally Bananas electrical outlets
They have electrical outlets (and WiFi, plus the coffee shop is open 24 hours), so you know what this means; you can hang out at Totally Bananas with your laptop and do some remote work.
🥯 Totally Bananas food
The owners kinda took it literally and went totally bananas (this time, pun intended) with putting bananas on all of the food on their menu. That’s the reason for the coffee shop’s name, according to Jolina, the barista.
Banana bread
Price: USD 1.76 (PHP 100)
The barista recommended their bestseller, the Banana San Sebastian cheesecake. I can certainly believe it was a bestseller because there were only two slices left. However, I’m not a fan of cheesecake so I opted for bread instead.
So I had banana bread, which was dense and tasted OK but I found it a bit dry.
☕ Totally Bananas drinks
Flat white
Price: USD 1.76 (PHP 100)
For drinks, I ordered a cup of flat white. I was slightly taken aback upon seeing how small the cup is. Then I remembered that it was only $1.76 and thought, maybe the size is appropriate for the price. Of course, this is just an assumption, not like I know anything about the logistics.
It’s a good thing though that the coffee was delicious. Not the best flat white I’ve had but it wasn’t bad at all.
