Coffee Shop Review: The Note Coffee, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi, Vietnam

I saw a quirky coffee shop in Hanoi while walking along the Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square. It’s hard to miss because it’s in a tall building, and you can clearly see that it has colorful sticky notes all over it. It’s aptly named The Note Coffee, one of the most interesting coffee shops I’ve seen in Hanoi.

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ The Note Coffee ambiance and interiors

Whoever thought about the sticky note concept is a genius. Imagine setting up a business, not spending a lot on interior design, and instead, letting customers write on a post-it note and stick them up on every inch and corner of the place, then voila, you have a quirky coffee shop. And because of that, you’re able to attract customers; as I said, genius.

As you can see, the walls, furniture, doors, and windows are all covered with post-its. People can write whatever they want; inspiring quotes, messages to self, messages to someone, confessions, curses, name it, there’s probably a note for it.

๐Ÿ’ป The Note Coffee WiFi

WiFi works really well at The Note Coffee, the whole of Hanoi, actually. I come from a country where Internet connectivity is awful so finding free WiFi at every establishment I’d been to in Hanoi was such a big deal for me.

๐Ÿ”Œ The Note Coffee electrical outlets

There are electrical outlets at The Note Coffee; you just need to find a seat closer to them.

It didn’t look appetizing so I wasn’t expecting it would be good. Surprisingly, it’s one of the best-tasting Bahn mis I’ve ever had. It had no meat yet it was so tasty, and the bread was crunchy, but the insides were soft, I loved it.

I must admit, I wasn’t too crazy about the coffee. It was quite bitter and sweet at the same time. Not the best coffee I’ve had in Hanoi.

I stayed at The Note Coffee for almost an hour because I loved the view of the lake, and the WiFi was fast. I also had fun reading the notes. There were some scathy messages on a few of them, and they were the most fun to read, to be honest.

I left my own note, too, because everyone should know I’d been there, haha… Kidding aside, even when I didn’t enjoy the coffee, I still recommend The Note Coffee when visiting Hanoi. Who knows, you might enjoy some other drinks on the menu.

And when you have something to say that you can’t tell anyone, you could write a note about it. Leave it on The Note Coffee. It has been carrying all of these messages from people all over the world for a while now. Your secret’s safe with it.
