The Ravine By One Selah Review
To celebrate the birthday of my nephew, I booked a 2-night staycation at The Ravine by One Selah. Let me just preface this by saying that one night is not enough. I’d been here with a friend before, and we only stayed for a night. In Filipino parlance, it was “bitin.” You cannot fully appreciate the place if you’re only there for one day. So if you’re planning a visit, I recommend staying for at least two nights. And since you’re planning a visit, use my The Ravine by One Selah review to guide you through your visit.
The Ravine by One Selah Location
The Ravine by One Selah is one of the resorts owned and managed by the Selah Group of Hotels. It’s a unique multi-level resort nestled within a lush forest in Kaytambog, Indang, Cavite. The resort is thoughtfully designed to cascade down a ravine, creating a tiered layout.
As you descend, you encounter various facilities, such as cozy cabins, an aviary, and, at the lowest tier, a river.

What activities to do at The Ravine by One Selah
This is not just a place for relaxation but also for fun activities. Here are some of the things that you can do inside The Ravine by One Selah:
Vietnamese boat

Probably the first thing that you will do when you arrive at the resort is to try the Vietnamese basket boat. They have a man-made pond where you can ride this circular boat inspired by the basket boats in Hoi An, Vietnam. They will even lend you a paddle and a conical hat to complete your Instagram-worthy photoshoot.
Rope hammock

Inside each cabin is a rope hammock where you can spend hours lounging and communing with nature. This was my favorite part of the room, and I spent hours hanging out, sipping my coffee as I enjoyed the view of the forest and listening to the sounds of birds.
Zipline

You will start the day’s adventure on the zipline. You will be given gear to wear, such as a helmet and harness systems (lanyards and carabiners) to ensure your safety. This is not a Superman zipline, you do this activity while sitting down and extending your legs. It was just a short ride, but enough to activate your adrenaline to keep you going for the rest of the activities.
🕙 Operating hours: 8 AM–5 PM
Note: You may experience the zipline a few times if so desired.
High-rope course

Arguably, the most exciting activity you can do in this resort is the high-rope course. It involves navigating through eight suspended obstacles and challenges at height. Be prepared to test your balance and strength. It was a true test of courage for people like me who have a fear of heights, but once completed, it was such an amazing feeling.
Kids can do the course too, depending on their height, as the cables may be too high for them to reach. My 8-year-old niece completed the course twice with the assistance of a guide.
🕙 Operating hours: 8 AM–5 PM | 6 PM–9 PM
Billiards and Chapay

To help pass the time, you can play billiards or chapay. You can find the boards in the guest lounge area behind the reception hall.
Swimming
Each cabin has its own swimming pool, so you don’t even have to leave the room to enjoy a swim. And when you want to relax your tired muscles, you can just jump into the hot tub, just beside the swimming pool.
If swimming with nature is more your vibe, you can head down to the river where you can find a natural pool. The water level goes up to my chest, about 0.96 meters. You can also go down the water slides found on each side of the pool.
Note: I recommend wearing aqua shoes when you swim in the river, as the bottom of the pool are sandy and rocky.
Big swing

What I was too scared to try in Bali, I was able to do at The Ravine by One Selah, and that’s riding the big swing. You will be secured with a swing harness and then pushed by one of the staff for momentum. The platform wasn’t as high as those in the giant swings, so this is best for those who might be a little bit apprehensive about trying such an activity.
Tramvia

Because it’s a multi-layered resort, they have a tramvia to make navigation easier, especially when hauling supplies or assisting guests. It runs along the slope, so if you want a convenient way to climb, you can request the staff to ride the tramvia.
Body massage
After all those activities, you probably need a massage. Thankfully, the resort offers this service too. Just go to the reception to book a massage session.
Other activities
We weren’t able to try the following activities, but it’s worth mentioning that they’re part of the resort’s offerings.
- Mushroom tour
- Fishing
- Aviary walk and bird feeding
- Bonfire
Note: Applicable fees may apply.
