Coffee Shop Review: 84th Brickyard, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi, Vietnam
Something got caught in the corner of my eye as I walked down the street on my last night in Hanoi. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was another coffee shop. I had visited two coffee shops earlier that day; I had enough caffeine in my blood to keep me up; but did it stop me from going? Of course, not. This is how I came to discover 84th Brickyard.

Booking.com🖼️ 84th Brickyard ambiance and interiors

The aesthetics differed from most coffee shops I’d seen in Hanoi. While other coffee shops looked traditional and old, 84th Brickyard has modern interiors. The space is narrow, with deliberate sloppy brickwork on the walls. There were abstract paintings, bar stools, and wooden chairs and tables.
The barista informed me they had more seats upstairs, so I climbed up to the second floor, where I saw this space that looked like I had entered somebody’s home.
I later found out that Nola Cafe and Bar own this space; apparently, they share the space with 84th Brickyard, so I’m assuming they have the same owner.

💻 84th Brickyard WiFi
Sorry, but I’m not sure if 84th Brickyard has WiFi because I wasn’t able to ask them.
🔌 84th Brickyard electrical outlets
The coffee shop has electrical outlets.
🥯 84th Brickyard food
Banana bread
Price: USD 0.85 (VND 20,000)

The portion is small, but it was okay as the loaf is dense and thick. It was faintly sweet, and the banana flavor was barely discernible, but it was okay.
☕ 84th Brickyard drinks
Bac xiu
Price: USD 1.70 (VND 40,000)

Bạc xỉu is a traditional Vietnamese white coffee. It’s usually served iced, but I had mine hot. It was toothsome and whitish, one of the best lattes I’ve ever had.
I stayed there for a while as I loved the ambiance. It was quiet, and except for another group of customers on the other side of the room, there were no other people during my stay.
I loved the coffee, so props to the barista. I’ve always believed that anyone can make coffee, but only a few good ones can make good coffee; the 84th Brickyard barista being one of them. I definitely recommend this coffee shop when you visit Hoan Kiem.
