Cafe Breton – The Podium

Hi guys, am back! Sorry for the delay, the Picasa thing really threw me off, then I got busy with work, met some friends last Saturday, got drunk on tequila, nursed a terrible hangover the day after and of course… got lazy. There, you got all my excuses. So of course, a week worth of bumming equals to a mountain of pending topics. I figured I’d take one of them out of the way before laziness takes over again.

Last Wednesday I met with my friend, Ana in Ortigas to attend the Ms. Earth’s Foundation Fashion for a Cause, but that’s another story, I’ll get into it next time. For now let’s talk about where Ana and I had coffee right after the event, at Cafe Breton, The Podium.

If you haven’t snooped around my blog archives, allow me then to inform you that this is the second time I’m reviewing Cafe Breton. The first time was in October 2010, when I went with my high school friends at Cafe Breton Mall of Asia branch.

This time we’re doing the one in Ortigas. It’s bigger, has a second level, and an al fresco area. If you choose to sit on the second floor you only need to ring the hand bell, yes there is one for each table. And I gotta tell you it’s effective so don’t play around with it, well if you don’t want one of the crews appearing on your side in a snap. Ring the bell only when you are ready to order or pay the tab.

We just had dinner so we limited our orders to coffee and crepe. This time I picked one of their sweet crepes, Deja Vu (PHP 211) and damn it was orgasmically good! The insides were filled with milk, cheese, and pieces of mango. It also comes with a scoop of mango flavored ice cream, which I think completes this heavenly creation. It’s also a big serving, good enough for two.

I ordered caramel-flavored Cafe Liegeois (PHP 130). I find it a lot better than the one I had the first time. I don’t know, maybe I’m just being biased because I have always loved caramel. All I know is, it’s good.

By the way, I’ve been camera happy and took pictures around. See photos below.

The place is really homey, quiet, and so perfect for that chat over coffee.
