Manila Coffee Festival 2024
My friend shared that there would be a coffee festival in Pasay, and of course, there’s no way your coffee girl would miss it. So I bought two tickets and invited my sister Vanessa to come with me. The Manila Coffee Festival was held for three days, from March 16 to 18; sis and I joined in on the fun on Saturday, March 17.
What is Manila Coffee Festival?
The Manila Coffee Festival is a celebration of all things coffee and a haven for coffee enthusiasts and newbies alike. It’s a chance to explore the rich world of Philippine coffee, discover hidden gems, and connect with passionate coffee growers and businesses.

How much is the ticket?
The ticket price for the Manila Coffee Festival was PHP 370 (US$ 6.59), which I purchased online. Upon arrival, we exchanged our vouchers for a festival ticket and wristband at the reception.
When did the festival begin?
The festival began last year, 2023, at the World Trade Center Manila. Rich Watanabe, CEO of SGD Coffee and Culture Center, Inc., founder and Executive Director of the Coffee Heritage Project, founded the festival.
Where is the venue?
This year, the Manila Coffee Festival was held at the MGBx Convention Hall, at the Marriott Grand Ballroom of Newport World Resorts in Pasay City.

What to expect at the event?
The Manila Coffee Festival is a sensory overload in the best way possible! My sister and I had a great time sampling a variety of coffees and foods.
Beyond the coffee fix, the festival offered a vibrant marketplace. We browsed through booths showcasing coffee-related equipment like espresso machines, grinders, and mugs.
There were also other activities that people could enjoy, such as checking out art exhibits, souvenir shopping, indulging on a food trip, joining workshops, watching talks, and even getting a traditional tattoo from the artists of Kalinga.

One interesting addition this year was the “cacao alley,” featuring locally-sourced cacao. Coffee aficionados also appreciated the “single-origin bar,” highlighting the work of Filipino coffee farmers.
A small heads-up for future attendees: while there was a good amount of sampling, not all booths offered freebies. This felt like a missed opportunity, as free samples are a fantastic way to entice potential customers.
Final thoughts
Overall, the Manila Coffee Festival was a fun experience. From the diverse coffee selection to the vibrant atmosphere, it was a celebration of Philippine coffee culture at its finest. I even left with charming coffee-themed souvenirs – a pin, a postcard, and a pair of earrings!
If you’re a coffee lover or simply seeking a fun and unique event, the Manila Coffee Festival is definitely worth adding to your calendar next year.
