What does Coffeehan mean?
Coffeehan is coined from two words, “coffee” and “kapihan” (Filipino word for cafe). This blog was created in 2010 and originally intended to gain access to media events. But it didn’t take long for the author to take blogging seriously.

Meet Mara
Marjorie “Mara” Gavan is the voice behind Coffeehan, a blog she started in 2010 to document her travels, café discoveries, and everyday musings. A writer from the Philippines with a Journalism degree and over two decades of experience, Mara’s work spans technical writing, content strategy, and creative storytelling.
She’s traveled solo across countries, trained as a barista in Melbourne, and found inspiration in the quiet corners of the world. Now, she’s channeling that same passion into fiction as she currently works on her first novel.
Mara writes to remember, to connect, and to explore what it means to live with intention, one story, one cup of coffee at a time.
