J.Co Donuts & Coffee

Move over Krispy Kreme, there is a new It doughnut place in town and it’s called, J.Co Donuts. It was established in Indonesia in 2005 and now, it has branches in four other countries, China, Malaysia, Singapore, and now The Philippines. Since the opening of its first branch in Megamall, J.Co has created a hype that does not seem to die down. So far I have been to three J.Co branches, all of them were always cramming with people, so much so that they always run out of doughnuts and the queue is so long, it goes beyond the store’s vicinity.

Once you get a taste of J.Co doughnuts you will know why people are so willing to wait in line. Since the doughnuts sell like hotcakes, the crew are always baking new ones, so you are sure to enjoy freshly made, soft, and delicious doughnuts.

Here’s the price list:

  • 1 piece – PHP 42
  • 1/2 dozen – PHP 230
  • 1 dozen – PHP 350

As you can see, the doughnuts are not exactly cheap but I assure you they are worth every cent. Say you want to taste different flavors (I’m telling you there are so many to choose from) for less, I suggest you try their baby doughnuts called J. Pops. It’s a box of 24 pieces, small doughnuts worth PHP 230.

My personal favorites are Al Capone, Oreology, and Mona Pisa. Al Capone is topped with white Belgian chocolate and almonds. It reminds me of this Chewy Junior’s cream puff flavor called, almond sweetheart. Oreology on the other hand, is topped with crumbs of Oreo cookies. Mona Pisa is actually a doughnut pizza, sounds weird? Don’t knock it til you try it.

Aside from the doughnuts, you can also enjoy their coffee, yogurt, and juice. J. Co has a separate counter for their drinks. When my friends and I went to J. Co last time, we were offered a free taste of their Chocomint Frappe (PHP 135/PHP 150). I have always found a chocolate-mint combo an abomination but this I gotta say, tasted real good. There was just a hint of mint so it did not overpower the chocolate flavor. It was real refreshing and quite pleasing to the taste.

You probably heard it already from some people so I am just going to confirm it. J. Co doughnuts are not too sweet, still they are quite flavorful, which is probably the reason people don’t get tired of it and always come back for more.

I love Jco too. The doughnuts aren't too sweet, unlike Krispy Creme doughnuts na magkaka sugar rush ka talaga after hehe. I feel the same way about choc-mints..feeling ko when I eat anything that is a mix of choco and mint, parang kumain ako ng chocolate pagkatapos kong mag toothbrush! Well, good thing your drink tasted ok 🙂

    J. CO for me is a little overrated. I'd appreciate Country Style… more. But instead of doughnuts, I'd rather go to Sebastian's… and gorge on their sapin-sapin flavor ice cream.
